Tommy Bahamas

Good wine at Tommy Bahamas

Ah. Tommy Bahamas. A favorite spot of my sweet second parents (mother-in-law and father-in-law), Bruce and Maryann. Every time I eat there I think of them. Usually when I eat there it is with them, so that would be the majority of the reason why...;c).

I love this place. It has come to be one of my very favorite restaurants. It is a bit pricey, but the wine is delicious and the food is quite memorable. I could have eaten the goat cheese and mango salsa appetizer as my meal. I was stuffed after just that, but I couldn't stop there. The beef medallions were so good, and the asparagus....well, Liz knows I can't not try the asparagus for several reasons. Some of which are only known to Liz. Then there was the pina colada cake. PINA COLADA CAKE. They put the well-known, overdone in tropical areas drink in the CAKE. And it was GOOD. So good, and so not well-known and overdone. It was a perfect cake. Matt got the key lime pie and it was done as key lime pie should be done. If you don't know how it should be done, or know that it shouldn't be green, then you need to go find yourself a piece of real key lime pie and report back when you know what color it should be. Tommy Bahamas knows.

I am so lucky to have Maryann and Bruce as my parents-in-law. They are truly the best and I could not have asked for any two better people to be my parents-in-law. I am thankful that they show me so many wonderful places to eat. I am a southern girl who likes her southern food, but also likes to expand her food vocabulary. I teach Matt about biscuits and gravy and he teaches me about real clam bakes.

You ever been to one of those? Fantastic. But that is for another day. Tonight I have the remainder of a PINA COLADA CAKE calling my name.
